KORR presented an overview of judicial liquidation as a tool for resolving corporate disputes
Since 2014, Russian legislation provides participants in companies, whose activities are blocked by a corporate conflict, with the ability to seek judicial liquidation of such a company.
Before this norm was introduced, companies in which corporate wars raged for a long time were practically doomed to bankruptcy, and their participants suffered substantial losses.
Now the situation may change, as liquidation allows ending corporate disputes at a relatively early stage and distributing the company's assets among the participants after settlements with creditors.
More detailed information can be found in the overview, prepared by the head of tax and corporate practice at KORR, Pavel Shajdurov, and KORR's junior lawyer Denis Zverev. For over 20 years we have been operating on the international market, advising our clients on Russian law. KORR was created with a single strategic goal — to work with international clients and foreign law firms, to become a kind of 'bridge' for business and to find points of contact between different legal systems in the client's interest. Achieving this goal has been recognized by prestigious international rankings such as The Legal 500 (region Europe, the Middle East and Africa) and Chambers and Partners (European sector), as well as the Law Society of England and Wales, in which KORR became the first Russian member. A key area of KORR's activity is legal support for international projects.
